Sound by Nature®
The Sound by
Nature® sound unit is a small device housing the preamplified
sound, which our research has shown, that plants respond to most
favorably. It works synergistically with the
Plant by Nature®
formulas
A long time ago some
bright farmer noticed that plants watered with sprinklers seemed to grow
better when it rained.
This puzzled him and so
he began to figure out what is the difference between rain water and
sprinkler water.
After discovering that
there was no significant difference in the water, he decided that sound
was one of the key differences between rain and sprinkler water.
Sound? Yes the sound of
thunder caused by lightning. After reading all he
could find on the subject he found that only certain frequencies and
combinations of sound seemed to have any effect on the plants.
Were you to read the
research on the effect of sound on plants, you could discover that certain
music, and various sounds within a frequency range seemed to work better
than others ... water surging onto the beach, for example.
If you compare the
effective frequency range to the frequencies produced by thunder, you will
find that these are nearly the same.
If you think about this
for a moment, rain is the life blood of plants that are not tended by
humans. There are many studies
showing how plants respond directly to seasonal rain cycles.
We know that plants
respond better when the sounds from Sound by Nature is played to them.
You will have to
determine in your own mind if this explanation is enough for you to try
the sound in combination with Plant by Nature® nutrients.
There are sensors in the
unit that do not allow the unit to be played in the dark or when it is
either to hot or to cold for plants to receive nutrient.
The idea is that if you
can hear the sound, the plants can respond to it.
Because the
sound unit is a small pre-amplified unit, it can drive most any 8 ohm
speaker system from a small one inch speaker suitable for a house plant to
a large commercial system capable of dispersing sound to large commercial
acreages.
The unit can
be powered from a standard 9 volt battery or from an optional 9 volt plug
in power supply from either 50 0r 60 hertz cycle A.C. Power. If required
we can also supply 220 volt power supply units for European operation.
We can also
supply an optional solar powered unit with or with out a gel cell battery
power back for cloudy day operation.
The small
sound unit has a photo cell on it disabling its use during the darkness
hours. It also has a temperature sensor inside disabling the use of the
device when the temperature is below 40°F.(4°C) and above 95°F (31°C)
There are
three small adjustment screws, one for each parameter located in the
moisture tight battery compartment, so you can dial in the sensors based
on the location of the device in the its location of operation. The ideal
time to use the device is just when the sun comes up in the morning, just
after peak dew fall.
The device
has a timer built into it so that it will play for about 30 minutes and
then shut off. Pressing the large button in the center of the device will
initialize the sound for the approximate 30 minutes providing that the
sensor parameters are not exceeded and there is power to the unit.
If the birds
fly away and the dog runs for cover, you know the device is working as it
sounds just like a major thunderstorm is approaching. There is some music
interspersed in the device to make it a little less cumbersome to any
human who needs to be around the unit while it is reproducing the sound.
This music actually helps the plants relax. The news that plants actually
respond to sounds might shock you, but it is true. Plants do respond
positively or negatively to sound. This particular set of sounds proved to
be the most positive. The sounds of cutting, sawing, tearing, ripping,
snipping, and caterwauling proved to be the least attractive to plants.
Acid rock and heavy metal music sounds came in a close second.
