Flowerpot by Nature®
You can go to almost any
grocery or home improvement store in the USA now and purchase soil for
interior house plants. In some parts of the world this is also known as
flowerpot soil.
Why would
you want to use ours as opposed to the soil you can purchase at the local
market?
Our products
never contain wood fibers. Many commercial flowerpot soil blends contain
wood by products used as a filler. It takes a very long time for wood
fibers to convert to humus in the soil and while they are doing so these
wood fibers can emit low levels of a gas that can actually retard plant
growth.
Flowerpot by
Nature® uses plant fiber that has already been broken down into
humus before you receive it.
Many
commercial flowerpot soils contain vermiculite. Vermiculite is
manufactured from aluminum, magnesium or iron silica. Vermiculite is used
to aid the soil in retaining water.
Flowerpot by
Nature® does not contain any of these minerals which can cause
nutrition imbalances in your flowerpot soil. Instead our soil retains
water because of the humus content of the soil. When you use the plant
food products the Plant by Nature® product line, to feed your
plants, the humus content is constantly fortified and you need not worry
about the soil in your flowerpot becoming compacted and not retentive to
water.
Many
commercial flowerpot soils contain Styrofoam as a filler. You can see
these as little white spots all through the soil. Flowerpot by Nature®
will never contain any man-fabricated filler. We use latex water retention
crystals to help your plant maintain a constant supply of water.
Most
interior plants grown in flowerpots either receive too much water or not
enough. The crystals help absorb excess water and then give it back to the
plants slowly so you only have to water your plants about one time each
week.
