Calculating ArenaKleen Requirements
The formula presented is the MINIMUM usage rate based on footing that is new or in excellent condition. If the footing contains more than 12% clay or certain types of rubber, the formula may need an upward adjustment. Old, beat up, fine, dusty footing may also require higher application rate.
The formula is 500 gallons per acre per inch of footing. Length times width equals # of sq ft, then divide by 40000, then multiply by 500, the result is the amount of ArenaKleen per inch of footing material.
Based on the above formula an example would be: 100 x 200 = 20000 sq ft. Divide 20000 by 40,000 = 0.5 acre of arena to be treated. 0.5 x 500 = 250 gallons per inch of footing material. 3” of footing above the compacted base would require a total of 750 gallons in this example.
[CAUTION: It is important not to underestimate the depth of the arena footing material down to the compacted base. Accurately measure your footing depth in several random locations (including the corners) of your arena and be sure to dig down to whatever makes up the base material where it becomes hard and compacted].
Application rates will decrease with successive
applications; time between applications should gradually increase with
successive applications. Once absorbed the footing material will feel dry
and will not track.
• ArenaKleen has been used once again this year as the dust control
product at The Royal in Toronto.
• ArenaKleen has been used as the exclusive dust control product for the
2008 PBR World Finals in Las Vegas .
We’ve yet to have an unhappy customer so it must be functioning the way
that they like it.
And now a skeptic says good things about ArenaKleen by DirtGlue
Enterprises in the following article:
http://www.ridingmagazine.com/riding_onlinemag/articles/12_2008/emc.htm
People say that, “ArenaKleen rides like dry but functions like moist”. “It
maintains the best ‘feel’ in the footing and the horses perform better
than on any water-based dust control product”
